[PROLOGUE.... ABOUT THIS SITE] ~ ~ ~ ~ [HOME PAGE]

Comment from the webmaster: THANK YOU GUYS for making this Forum a dream come true. If you haven't read these entries, take the time to. They tell the story - from the guys' own words - of a very special unit of hitherto unknown, unthanked, and pretty damned dedicated and effective airmen.

The Army in the furthest reaches of 'the bush' in Vietnam, knew that they could depend on the reliable and energetic support of THE 8TH AERIAL PORT SQUADRON. 8th APS' "representives in the field" were these guys who worked MOB missions and manned the Dets and OL's of the FORWARD AIRFIELDS OF VIETNAM in support of all fixed wing aircraft - mostly the C-130's of the 834 Air Division, but often including the C-123's which flew to the more isolated bases, and the USAF and US Army C-7 Caribous which flew in support of the FIFTH SPECIAL FORCES.

This is THEIR STORY and they're telling it. Soon we'll have pages of photos and hopefully more stories of their experiences here on the website. For now, however, our simple little Forum tells the story...
